He waves adieu with a smile on his face
Not knowing it would be his last.
She does not know the significance
As she watches him disappear in a blink of an eye.
Just another morning ritual
She thought to herself.
Not knowing things were about to change forever,
As she goes back inside.
Blocks away
We hear the screeching of tires
And the crunching of metal as it hit a cement wall.
Mangled in the mess
Laid his dead tangled body.
Barely recognizable with blood an glass fragments splattered all around his skin
He died instantly on impact.
In the middle of washing the breakfast dishes
She suddens turns pale
As she knows in her heart something is so very wrong.
Then the doorbell is heard
As she turns off the water and grabs the towel to dry off her hands.
She slowly opens the door to see two police officers
And knew instinctly what she mpst dreaded to hear.
She crumpled against the door
As they told her the drastic news.
Tears flow stating all that was needed to say
As it quickly turned her life into a nightmare.
The last memory was a smiling man waving happily
As he left for work.
